Compareaitextdetectly vs Pangram
Both tools estimate whether writing came from an AI model. We make aitextdetectly, so this page sticks to what each company publishes. Pangram's figures come from its pricing page, checked in September 2026. Prices change, so check before you buy.
Choose Pangram if
- You want plagiarism checking and AI detection in one tool. Both Pangram plans compared here include plagiarism checks, and we don't offer them.
- You want a free allowance counted in words. Pangram's free option is 2,000 words a day.
Choose aitextdetectly if
- You check a lot of text. On monthly billing, Plus costs $0.12 per 10,000 words and Pangram Individual costs $0.67. For teams, Pro costs $0.037 and Pangram Professional $0.43.
- You need an API on a small budget. Pro includes API access and 5 seats for $15 a month. The cheapest Pangram plan here with an API is Professional, at $65.
- You want to see why a text was flagged. Results mark the sentences that read as AI, list the indicators behind the score, and say Inconclusive when the evidence points both ways.
- You'd rather your text isn't kept. We send it to our detection provider for that one request and keep no copy.

What about accuracy?
We haven't found an independent benchmark that tests aitextdetectly and Pangram on the same texts, so this page makes no accuracy claim either way. A vendor's own accuracy figure comes from texts and cutoffs the vendor chose.
The fairest test is your own. Run both tools on writing where you already know who wrote it, and include plenty of writing by people: wrongly flagging a person costs more than missing some AI text. Our About page explains how our detector reaches a verdict and what our own testing found.
